Thanks for the compliments guys ;Sweet ! I think the 5" exhaust sounds great. It has a nice deep rumble under heavy acceleration and has a sweet turbo whistle ideling and going slow. Here is where I got the tail pipe from http://shop.ivalueinternet.com/shopdiesel/index.cfm/action/productdetail/product_id/214.htm , and I used 5" water pipe from the downpipe to the tailpipe. I will try to get some more videos ASAP!

Deeproots, I will be interested in what your mpg will be with the moose pump. I don't get to drive mine the same enough to get a good figure, one day I might pull a 4000 pound trailer, the next I might pull a 20000 pound trailer, and the next day might be empty.

I'll get pretty good milage estimates this week.
driving 250miles away to a firefightin course.
considering i've always lived in the 14-15mpg range, I assume I'll hold pretty close... dunno tho.
250 miles one way at 3000rpms :p
hey...hold my beer and watch this:D

;Sweet, what promted you to go 90+mph :D?
boredom.
sheer boredom.
there's a whole lot of nothing when flying low through AZ, NM, and a majority of TX. Not even a critter or a passing vehicle(except for another very bored DPS parked on the side of the road:eek: )
I found out the cruise control even works at that speedcookoo
oh yea, the speedo stops at 90.
DPS clocked me at 104.
not while the pic was being taken though. That's roughly 3500rpm;p

Yeah, I find it easy to get going that fast on I40 as well. Drove 85-90 mph almost the whole way from Flagstaff to Little Rock. Not really intentional, i just don't have cruise control, so it's really easy for it to get away like that.

Also, the mileage in a 351 gasser going 90 is horrendous. I don't know what RPM it runs though, since my truck doesn't have a tachometer. Anybody know what RPMS you'd be running with a ZF-5 and a 4.10 in a gasser?

I thought they used different gearing between gasser and diesel transmissions.

2954 RPMS is what i come up with for 90 mph, 5th gear(.76 ratio) with 4.10's and stock 235/85/R16's on it.

math is great but doesn't account for areodynamics(think a brick with a wide butt) or other parasitic losses...such as lifted/lowered, alignment..etc.

True, and you can't be too sure about tire diameter anyway, seeing as all manufacturers have differences.

Hey guys, I got an update on the truck. I took cattle to the sale barn today and on the way back there is a 7% hill that the truck and trailer before would struggle to go 40 mph up it empty. Well today it went smoking up it;Sweet , was going 60 at the top of the hill and still had plenty of throttle left. The egt got to 1100 boost was 10 and was leaving a pretty good smoke trail. I am totally pleased with how the truck pulls now:thumbsup: , nothing like before.
I still have not had a chance to get a video of the truck ideling, it's been raining the last 3 days-cuss , but will try to in the morning.

1100 is pushing it pretty hard. I wouldnt go much over that. Not unless you have shims instead of gaskets, and darn good pistons. Thats just my .02.
How are those GP's working for ya?
