If the system measures resistance, it would also see the resistance of any wires and connectons. One small nice thing about the factory harness is new connectors for the guages and a new connector for the main plugin for the whole shebang. I am very happy with doing the factory job, but it was kind of spendy.

you want the same greasy harness the gpc came with?
btw... the gpc was working fine. the motor died a death of hydrolock from blown head gaskets.

Good to know the controller's history there...and yes, I'll go ahead with the harness. I imagine the 7.3l harness connector's different from the 6.9l, but nothing I can't overcome, eh? I'm just getting tired of pouring $$ that I don't really have into this project...
