Truck Almost Started

So i Finally hitched up the trailer and loaded my rig up and towed it to our shop, the reason being is that one of our neighbors has been working on the IDIs for a long time and i wanted some help to get the darn thing to start. So i hooked up our trusty 200 amp Charger and went to town, I pulled the GPs out to get her to spin nice and fast bled the fuel lines out, hooked up the GPs gave her a spin and She Finally fired off!!!! but then promptly died right after a nice thick cloud of smoke engulfed the truck then i let the batts charge a lil longer just to be safe and made sure my Clutch Fan was tight cause i couldnt remember if i had tightened it up after the new Water pump and when I turned the key it wouldnt start again.... did i do something wrong? Any Thoughts as to what happened?

BTW it was about 50* tonight, but i dont think that would make a difference would it?

Rebleed it. You've prolly got bad return line o-rings. Start You bleeding with the Shrader valve at the FF. Then move to the inj lines.

but I just replaced the Injecetors, return lines and o-rings

it sounds like you got air in the system still. rebleed everything. i thought we determined that when starting or running air/leak in the return lines is negligible? and that it only mattered after you shut it off it might drain down. shouldn't matter now.

Are the glow plugs functioning? My 87 does not like to light off without them unless it is just been run (140 or more water temp) and still prefers to short cycle them.

I'd still say bleeding again is a good choice as they can be a booger to get the air out of. Even when I thought I had mine bled, it ran rough for a few minutes after it started, and improved for an hour or two after wards.

it took my truck a good 3 times to get all air out. keep trying, its a pain in the ass.
