Tech 101 Starting with Ether

I've started mine with ether once. Poor thing, listening to it start was like kicking a puppy. I'm not anti ether though, I carry a can just in case the day after tommorow happens and its -10000* outside. Well, you get my point LOL

I posted this before but have not tried it. My father in law claims the best way to use ether is to spray it on a rag and lay it over the intake, he says you dont get the ill efects that ether usually causes on startup.
Someone try it once please and let me know how it works out.

I've heard the same about a rag soaked in gas.
