looking at a 89 model single wheel f350 4wd. how much would be involved in putting the 4wd front in a 93 model dual wheeled f350? Are the frames similar?

Yes similar. Brackets and such transplant.

I worked at a wrecking and repair shop 25 years ago where the owner would build the odd OBS F350 crew or clubcab dually 4wd.

The 93 is a 2wd? If so, you will have some rivet grinding and hole drilling to do. But the frames are the same shape.

i highly advise a reverse shackle kit. DIY is better, but can be bought.
