Porpoising is usually a weight distribution problem. What kind of hitch are you using?

It's a class 3 that the dealership set me up with. I has the torsion bars to help with weith distribution. I just think I have a heavy trailer and probably needed a F350 instead of the 250.?

Can't offer any advise on this but I have the twin to your truck & just ordered a 35ft 5'er so I'm as interested to hear where this goes.

apextrans, I'll keep you up-to-date on my findings from this install. The dream is to have them on this weekend but I will not be dragging my TT until later this month. I have high hopes, the products looks really good. If it performs as advertised, it should be well worth the purchase price.

BTW, *** on having the same truck as me?

Even got the snow in the picture too!!;Sweet I know TT's put more weight on the rear end but I was thinking of adding some firestone air bags if I had problems. My trailer won't be in until the end of March & the pin weight is only 1600lb & change. Anyway, I had a set up front on my '88 & they worked great with a snow plow to keep the truck level with the blade up. I had an 8' Western ProPlow out there with no trouble. I also have a buddy with the same set-up pushing a Boss Vplow, very heavy, & they keep him level too. If the springs don't do it for you, maybe look into the bags. I think it was about $400.00 for both bags, brackets, air pump, & the in-cab controller to adjust side to side from inside the truck. That was from Michigan Spring Works online. You don't need all that to make it work but if you skip the controller, you have to fill the bags through a schrader valve under the bumper from outside. Real PITA. I got some pictures of my old setup on the 88.

Nice truck;Really ;Sweet

It's a lousy picture of the controller but there is a toggle lever on each side of that gauge. Up fills & down dumps the bags. Worth having if you go that route.

I sell and install the "super springs" brand overloads. I haven't gotten a single complaint on the larger pickups and utility trucks as far as their performance goes. The only time I have gotten a complaint is in the mini pickups where the empty rearend sits higher giving the vehicle a "skyjacker" look. here's a couple of pics with the truck rears before and after install. note the tire to fender opening clearance........
notes...
the '99 f450 packs a constant gross of 12k
the '86 f250 packs a constant gross of 7.5k
if you are running unloaded most of the time, opt for the lighter series springs or your rear will lift slightly.

Just installed these guys yesterday, the SSA-16's on the recomendation of the nice folks at Super Springs. It did lift the rear end but I don't know which other set to use. This is the recomended set for trucks with the factory overload springs.

I really wasn't looking to lift the back more that it already is, is there another option?

I would have gone the route of removing the overloads and installing the SSA13. the '86 f250 in the pic is using the SSA13.
