What sizes are used on the 6.9 starter. I destroyed mine getting the old starter off, someone torqued them on good.

Those are notjust any bolt. They have a shoulder design that keeps the hex from sinking deep into a socket. I tape the top bolt to asocket and install it that way. Takes so testing to be done without the bolt getting stuck to the socket and lost behind the starter. Also make sure the socket is taped to the extension used. They are 3/8x18 threads and the hex is smaller than normally what a 3/8 bolt uses. Its 1/2 inch instead of 9/16...
I won't swear to it, but I think that they might be standard Ford starter bolts that came out on (at least) older Ford cars and trucks. If anyone can spare a few, I need some. I'm missing one and the two that I have are crusty (came off plow truck).
