SRW to DRW front hubs 4x4

IIRC on the rotors. The offset is different between the two and the 4wd is a thicker rotor. Go to Azone or somplace like that and compare the two 2wd and 4wd. If that's so, then you'd have to change calipers and pads also.

You can see the threads where instead of the lug studs holding the rotor to the hub, there is a set of bolts that goes through the rotor and threads into the hub. Bolt is a 15mm 12point if I recall, and were VERY tight on those.

I went ahead with the adapters straight from arrow craft instead of wheeladapter.com They were cheaper, and closer. She said i'll need different lug nuts to mount the alcoas but i don't see why i can't use the ones that hold the on the crew cab right now. Guess i'll have to look when i get everything together.

yup. Heading to pull apart this weekend to check stuff out. I need a few things for the flatbed, and a buddy wants to browse. The plan would be to grab any ol steelies from there to throw on the crew cab for now. Once funds open up, i can grab some bolt on covers. She confused me on the phone because she said she's sending me both sets of lug nuts (to bolt the adapters on, and to bolt the alcoas on) and she said mumble mumble you can grab some hug a lugs to cover the lug nuts. But I don't see the point if I have the correct nuts already, unless there is a safety issue.

In other news, just finished my injector install kit...no wonder it ran like poop. One injector was loose and the lines were falling apart. Installed the new ones, made sure all the injectors were nice and tight, and **** she started right up. No long cranking either, starts as quick as my crew cab. I can mash the pedal and let off, and it doesn't choke itself out coming back down. I'm happy. Glad to be around this place to be able to poke through to find out how to stuff.

Thanks! I thought i was golden, with everything starting to come together, but i'm having an over heating issue now ha. Hoping it's just a sticky thermostat.

before i go and tear everything apart tomorrow if anyone wants to reassure me i'm heading in the right direction, or not that'd be great...

Obviously the truck is new to me, but it made a 3hour (one way) trip, running ~190 (aftermarket gauge). I've been cruising around town a little bit, no problems. I did have a bad gasket on the radiator cap, changed it to a new 13lb cap, and it started overheating at idle right away. It kind of just fixed itself.

Drove it around town here and there, up long steep grades, no sweat. 180-190 is all the way.

Today, put a new injector install kit in. Idled it for a while to get the air out, it slowwwly creeps up to 190, then after that it cruises pretty quick. I shut it down once it passed 210. Let it cool off, tried it again, same deal.

Being so intermittent, i'm thinking thermostat. What say you?

if your running 180-190 then it sounds like you have a malfunctioning t-stat.however not the way you think.
your truck is actually running too cool.the t-stat from ford is 192 meaning your temp gauge should read 192-210 range and upwards of 220-237 under heavy load.once upwards of 230-240 the oem fan clutch should engage.
diesel engines run warmer than gas engines.don't be afraid.


when you order arrowcraft front adapters,you use oem srw type lug nuts to hold them on.
the studs that hold the wheel on come with the adapters.they are not acorn type like oem are,but rather with built on flat washers.you use these type to hold on dually style rims.
to get an idea of the lug nuts that are used to hold on dually rims,simply take a look at the ones on the rear.

you cannot run srw rims with the arrowcraft adapters if this is what your thinking.

Thanks for the info. They're sending me new lugnuts to hold the adapters on, and new lug nuts to hold the wheels on. Guess i'm good to go using all the new stuff?


Secondly, how hot is too hot then? The first time it started getting hot (in my mind) it went well up to 230 just pulling out of my driveway. I backed into the yard and shut er down. SO i don't know if it will indeed cool itself down after it hits a certain temp. What's safe to let it climb up to to find out? Looking through threads, most people are saying 190-200 is normal, above that it's time to bail.....You're actually one of a few that say 210+ is normal. And of that, everyone is telling those people to check their coolant systems LOL???

Warhog: where's the temp sender?

The ford dualy 2wd and 4wd wheels are different also. With minimal modification they will work though.

Stock location. Everything seems good to go with the new thermostat, though it was an intermittent problem so it's early to tell. Haven't driven it except around the yard. What needs to be done to the wheels?

It's the alignment nipple.

Putting 93 f350 2wd wheels on my 94 f350 4x4, I had to grind off the nipple for them to go on the front. IIRC. The rears were fine, I think.
They're not needed anyways. Just help lining up the valve stems far as I can tell.

ah yeah that damn dowel pin. i was going to grind them off anyways. See, the tires i'm putting on are the ones that were on the crew cab when it locked up going down the interstate....so two of them are flat spotted. So i'm going to grind that pin off and spin one wheel 180*. Should even em out eventually, it does on a semi atleast ha.
