More likely to be ran over. People act like it's a highway. I'm right next to the high school too. Lol

So after doing some research, it appears in 09 is when they had some timing chain issues. (With the introduction of the vvt system)
Got some delete pipes for the mid mufflers. Maybe the rain will hold off tomorrow.

2009 is when the Class Action lawsuit was launched. The timing chain problem existed on all the MDS engines, even before 2009.
2009 also introduced the lifter problem wiping out cams. My brother has a 2011 with this problem. Still waiting for the cam after months of being on back order.
Apparently, Mopar fixed the lifter problem in 2016.
The older Hemis also had problems dropping an exhaust valve seat if the engine got hot/over-heated.
The 5.7 Hemi is a great engine when its working , but they have their fair share of issues.

I guess I can't find it then. Lol
Yeah, apparently all the new hemis have the lifter problem. Just cheap penny pincher parts.
I have heard of the valve seats dropping on the early ones.
I do have a recall for the rollover valve. Possibly the airbags as well, can't remember.

Welp... guess yall know what that means.... lol
Switched jobs. Now I'm driving 35 minutes to work instead of 1 mile. So she didn't quite last as long as I hoped. Plan is to drop in a junkyard engine while I replace the cam and lifters in the old engine (at a minimum, might need more work) going with a cam from Greene racing, locators, shims, lightweight retainers, hardened pushrods, .625 lift springs, and hellcat lifters. Buying it as a kit from them.
Probably get a hp tuner after installing all that. The cam likely wont play nice on stock tuning. Lol

No luck at the salvages. Things must go like hotcakes. (I see why with the lifter issues, us they are becoming the "new ls swap")
Found one in a charger, but it appeared to be a flood victim and was locked up. Several in SUV'S and truck's, but looked way harder to pull than the lx body, plus no idea on condition, so said screw it. Gonna get a rebuild from a mopar shop for $1300 with a 3 month warranty.

For anyone following, was wrong on the diagnosis. Apparently the 08 down don't have the same common lifter issues. (Not as many cases, as compared to the 09+ vvt engines)
Rod bearing.
You can see the damage from when it previously dropped valve seats.
Said someone had obviously been in there previously. Said the crank was trashed. You can see where the piston was contacting the head.
Also said those valve seats are staked incorrectly. Too far away from the seat to really make a difference.

Forgot to put a pic of the "new" engine.
And I thought the old engine had power...
