Doing the tanks the stealership wrenches unbolt 1 side of the bed all the way, and loosrn the other then tip up the bed...
Does make the rear tank easier, you rustbelters? I dunno...

I would hate to even think about pulling my bed bolts!! I can see a lot of breaking going on

Finished up what was supposed to be a quick job of injector return lines, valve cover gaskets, and new thermostat. ended up powder coating most of the parts i took off. All back together and so far no leaks (knock on wood)

This is supposed to be an oxford white match from prismatic powders. Need to find some powder coat matches for my blues as well so the whole engine bay doesn’t turn white.

I made another 450 mile trip to Montana last week with all my foundation ICF blocks and a bunch of my tools. Hoping to get that dug and poured this week.

The old 'Silver Alert' as I call the thing, seems to just keep plugging along. All in the trailer, conex and foundation was right about 10,000 lbs. There's two spots on the road in where it's 9 1/2 degrees and she crawled right up them in 4 Low and second gear.

Always goes just fine when accelerating, but is starting to clunk hard in the ZF5 when down shifting and trying to use engine braking. Gonna have to research what that might all be about.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep plugging away at this thing. Been fun to see what it can do.

Spent the last month or so completely rebuilding a 1995 Dana 60 to put in my f-250. I was told it had 4.10 gearing, but when I got into it I found 3.54 gears so I had to re-gear it as well. I’ve never done that before so it was a great learning experience. I finally put it in last weekend and it feels like I’m driving somebody else’s truck!

Thanks! It was a satisfying project and it’s been awesome driving around. I’ve been backing into parking spots so I can look at the front axle as I walk back to my truck lol

I have to say that, so far, it's been an interesting day. My goal for today was to go to town early to do my grocery shopping and some other running around. After that, head to the garage to mow there before it got too hot. As I was heading to the dump to get rid of the tree branches that were down from the recent storms, it stated to sprinkle. It was pouring rain by the time that I came out of the grocery store. I called a lady who lives about 1 1/2 blocks from my garage to check on the rain and she said that there had been 1" of rain there. Now I'll have to wait until this afternoon when it's HOT before I can mow. Just like I did here at the house yesterday. The "interesting" part is that, after I got home, I had to dump water out of my grocery bags before I carried them into the house. I've never had to do that before.

To sum it up, I did get most of the mowing done at the garage. I still have maybe 10 minutes left and I didn't feel like moving some stuff so I can finish that tomorrow IF it stops raining long enough for the grass to dry out.

Survived the latest round of 10 inches of rain.

Got my injector lines off, but more importantly got all 8 Autolite glow plugs out in one piece. I’ve got a better name for Autolite but I better not lol

Next step is to get a compression tester and see how healthy the engine is. Since I know very little about it and it wasn’t running right when I got it, it’s mostly a precaution. Then she’ll get a fresh set of Beru plugs and injectors. I think I need to build a new glowplug harness too, the factory connectors disintegrated the minute I breathed on them.

I just did a few small things, but I accomplished something at least. I had decided to go mow at my garage. I did get that done. For the past couple of years, I've been having intermittent issues with my starter push button. It randomly won't activate the starter, but it's worse when it's hot inside the cab. Almost never have an issue in the winter time. I got smart and put a test light on the driver's seat when I went to work this morning. When I came home for lunch, I tested the button and it worked just fine. The starter engaged like it should. It was also cloudy all morning. Naturally, the starter didn't work when I wanted to drive the truck. The engine ALWAYS starts right up if I jump the solenoid on the fender so at least I can drive. I just wanted to mow so I jumped the solenoid to go over there. After I got done mowing I tested the button again and it wasn't transferring power through it so I figured out that problem. When I opened the door to test the button over lunch, the rearview mirror was on the floor. The windshield hasn't even been installed for 1 1/2 years.This same mirror fell off of the last windshield before I had it replaced. I've just come to the conclusion that the truck doesn't want a mirror on the windshield.
