The small dimples were an air impact on 150psi/3/8" line, quarter size flat round chuck.
Big dimples were 2 1/5lb sledge hammers, it took three of 'em.
Broke two different handles off after about an hour.
Emptied full can of PB, and blew about 15% of a 60 cu in acetylene bottle, all to nada.
The truck came from Utah, had a lot of rust, used a 18v wire brush at the hub/rotor first thing, and let it soak in for 20 minutes before starting.
Tried to check position but no calipers would fit, and I have my dial indicator set up on a motorcycle wheel balancer for doing spokes. Really didn't want to disassemble and make a new jig, so grabbed a digital tire tread wear gauge, there was a .0020 in. difference in rotor to end of hub.
Nothing else to go on, just whacked it at the deep spot.
Only took about 10 minutes to constantly check 4 points to find the deepest offset, to finally get the dang thing off.
I've only done around 100 or so total brake jobs, but this was the most challenging.
The rotors were actually pretty clean, and could have been reused, had they come straight off.
Was a good thing I already had planned on replacing.
Came of a '18 Ram 3500 a buddy just got that came from Utah.
Sure I said, I'll give you a hand, bring it over, should only take about 30 minutes...
