My passenger side fender marker has been flickering for a week or so. It's been driving me nuts so I stopped and picked up a few LED units. I figured I might as well do it now if I have to mess with one.

I went and pulled off the offending culprit... HOLY CORROSION BATMAN! I'm not even sure how it came on at all....

Well a trip to Tractor Supply for the pigtail and of course they don't have the RIGHT one.... They have a three pin pigtail, but two of the wires line up correctly so it'll have to do.

I bent the third pin a few times until it popped off and now we're golden!

Checked the wires with my DVOM and clipped off the offending spare wire on the pigtail. Trimmed the wires back and crimp/sealed them together. Much better!

Taped it all off and hopefully good to go for another 200k miles!

It's all going to go back together with a liberal coating of dielectric grease, as will the other three after I clean them up.

Took my nice Alcoa rims with new bfg all terrains off of dead Hank the parts truck in my driveway as I continue to steal the goodies from it. My other ford rims with the red trim rings are off for now, I had pirellis on those and they were awful and worn to nothing. Truck was aligned in the middle of them wearing badly but they weren't good. I'll probably put all seasons on those rims and leave these on the alcoa's or eventually put these tires on the original trim ring tires and sell the Alcoa as all my other trucks are one ton diesels so two sets of rims arent really needed but we'll see..

Drove my son to MAHA (montana amature hockey association) state bantam hockey championship game. Brought home one of the 11 champions. Only 7 miles to the rink as Glasgow hosted the state tourney this year. Pretty cool that they get to hang a championship banner in the rink. Just had to share that as one pretty proud dad.:)

It was on my 81 F150. The actuator in the steering column broke back in January. It was FINALLY warm enough to install a push button so I could start it from inside the cab. What a PITA the last month+ has been while starting it!

Got the hitch installed and replaced the weird fabricobbled rear bumper with an oem on an '84 parts truck. Now just need to finish the wiring. Also finished up the in bed tie downs.

While we have the radiator & intercooler out for a clean along with replacing the injector cups, thought It'd be silly not to change out the water pump. It's bearing sounded dry, so fitting a new one once it arrives.

My boys grew up playing hockey and I coached...miss those days. Still have two nephews that play, bantams as well, first weekend in a while that we didn't have a game to go watch and suffering withdrawals.

Replaced sloppy steering shaft with broken flat spring with a new Borgeson upgrade.

I really need to do that too. Where did you pick yours up from? Is it one of the collapsible ones or is it the ‘die like a man’ version?

I got it on Ebay but it's a genuine Borgeson. It's a collapsible shaft, as much as I like the feeling of security about the truck I'm not keen on having it collapse my chest. It's a "universal fit" and requires you cut the DD tube to length and drill for the retaining bolt, but it's a easy job, took a couple hours mostly working myself up to hang upside down working the lower shaft off.

That's not too bad of a price either.
