Tonight i was cutting up my 1995 heep cherokee to sell the engine and scrap the rest, well i had the front wheels on 8x8 blocks, and 95% of the engine unbolted. I was underneath unhooking the bellhousing when i went to unhook the shifter cable, i THOUGHT i had the cable off the shifter arm when i unclipped the cable and pulled it off. I heard my friend yell and felt the heep drop on me, it kind of rolled off as i pushed myself out from under and sat up, then i felt the blood run down my face. My friend caught the jeep and pushed it back in, when he saw me he immediately shouted to get in the scout, we're going to the hospital, to breifly pause and ask if he could take a picture..... ;p....i said wait until we get there! So we jump in the '74 392 Scout and race to the ER. Just like my trucks i gathered quite the crowd there. Then sent me to another hospital for a specialist to put me back together. After some scrubbing and 8 internal stitches, and 38 external stitches i'm patched up like a salt belt IH! :D So always remember, if a wheel is off the ground CHOCK BOTH SIDES OF THE WHEELS!!! I "assumed" it was going to stay in park until i was done.... well that assumption ruined my night.

First pic you can see my SKULL! Second you can see the 38 stitches, and last you can see the radius arm bracket that caught me in the head....

Ouch! That thing got ya good!
Glad that was all it did.
I try to always chock the wheels when I have one in the air. The jeep was trying to get revenge on you for scrapping it!

Reminds me of a close call I had a few years back when I owned my 89 Firebird. I was going to change the starter and had it up on ramps. I got down and was beginning to crawl underneath the front of the car when i heard a loud grinding and a smash. That noise was BOTH ramps giving out and the car landing on it's wheels. I don't know why it happened, but I am sure as hell grateful that it happened BEFORE i had gotten my head underneath. My pulse has never been faster. And when i say BEFORE, i mean maybe TWO seconds before. It was very close. Nobody else was home, and i was parked behind the house, so it would have been hours before I would have gotten any help(If I had survived). Since then I have always been EXTREMELY careful to secure any vehicle that i plan to get under.

Sheesh, you're lucky you walked away from that one. Might ought to be keeping an eye out for signs of a concussion for a day or so. sometimes it takes a while to show up after a hit like that

Shoulda had the doc sew ya a couple of bolts in the side of your neck to complete the Frankenstein look :D

I know you are probably in a lot of pain right now, but I'm going to warn you....
From me at least, you should expect a ton of really bad Harry Potter jokes in the near future.

Yikes!!

Thank goodness you're okay and nothing truly bad happened. A good reminder that one can never be too careful...

Reminds me of someone that was had the truck parked on a slight hill while removing ujoints. Goober couldnt figure out why the driveshaft was being such a pain to come out.

Well, when he hit the joint with a hammer a few times, it came out and the truck rolled down the hill :rotflmao
