rings?

I am going to buy some rings form rockauto for my 1985 6.9 and they have 2 different choices sealed power and engine tech the sealed power ones are $185 and the engine tech ones are $99 what is the difference between the two? more expensive isn't always better right?

I’ve had problems with enginetech quality in the past, specifically pushrods.
I would go with sealed power, as their specs are always correct and build quality is superior.

X 2 on the sealed power. One thing I wish I'd done is order one size over rings, or even 7.3 rings and then hand gap the rings individually. The rings come pre-gapped these days so if you have a cylinder that is on the large edge of spec and a ring that was cut on the large end of spec, the gap of your brand new ring will be at the large end of spec. With any wear at all your new rings have excessive end gap

That would be "...now I'm a believer...", lol.

I'm curious about this as well. There's a good chance in going to have to do a rebuild rather soon and would like to hand gap rings closer to the narrower end of spec.
