Righty Tighty... Lefty Loosey Mistake..

A few days ago I decded to turn down the fuel... I used all the precaustions about clean work area and tools but... I test drove the truck to see that there was more smoke... Now being as it is, this is the pensacola pump and not my Moose pump I figured it was finally going bad. So I'm driving it, watching the black smoke sitting a idle and a warm motor waft by the cab when the wind blows it that dirction thinking.... Whats wrong now... Then it hits me hard. I turned the pump up and not down. I turned the fuel screw twards the front of the truck... I kept going over every step of what I did but never occured to me which way I rotated the fuel screw... Till tonite.... Sometimes your the bug.... Sometimes your the windshield.... Today I'm the windshield..... At least I can laugh at my mistake plus, this gives me something more I can do tomorrow....

Having all that fuel run into the valley pan when you pull the cover keeps things clean...

Hey Gary, if it's any consolation I had to make a phone call as I too fergot which direction to turn up da fuel after the turbo install.

At least I know I'm not alone.

Doh! Gary, why not stop fooling around with your pumps, and just move your seat forward and back to adjust your throttle range.

Although in retrospect as much as you like to turn your pumps down, you may need to extend your arms and brake pedal.

Yeah... I knew when I posted this boo boo there would be "remarks" like this.... I don't have any fuel washing down my valley pan. I place a few paper towels in a large ziploc bag under the pump. Then when the fuel drains out it flows into the bag. Really an easy cleanup and.... If you wanted to you could squeeze out the fuel into the tank to "save" it...

I "diaper" all my pumps because I don't like diesel washing down the back of my motor. Its already clean.... Diesel just makes a mess as it drips al over the back of the motor and over the starter... A really bad idea for a drain in my opinnion.
