in your guys opinions what is my best option here?
When the power steering went, about a week later my steering wheel,steering shaft, sumthin, has EXTREME play. up, down, left, right, I can litteraly move the wheel back and forth an inch! Now I have plastic pieces falling out of it, my horn goes off at will when i turn it, much nasty noises, n things breaking when the wheel is turned! I avoid driving it as much as possible. What should I do? open it up, n replace things at will, or just replace the whole thing?? From a money, and difficulty standpoint whats the best option here. Obviously Id go with a used column, n depending upon what i find in the column new/used parts in there as well.
Also, the bottom seal blew out of the steering box (the pitman shaft seals) What is the procedure for replacing this? I already have a napa kit. But chiltons does not cover this. Thanks guys!
