I still say that thing needs another pair of headlights inboard of the existing ones, you got way too much unused real estate on that grille :D

Where did you get the connector for the block heater? Btw they make self-ejecting ones for use in emergency vehicles, with them even if you forget to unplug before driving off you won't rip a cable off.

Bummer about the ball joints, but at least you'll know you're good for the long haul. Do plan on doing the other side soon too, although it's not uncommon for the left side to outlast the right one by many thousands of miles, as road damage usually occurs near the ditch.

Also holy heck this is one low-hanging bumper, guess you won't really have to worry about bent steering linkages if you run into something now, do ya?

the bumpers not any lower than the diff. And thats the point, protect the steering linkage, which is pretty low on teh super duties.

The connector was from amazon, Marinco 150BBI

Still on the fence about more lights. WOuldnt look bad, might look strange. Kinda like a spider lol.

Me, I'll tie the cord around the post in front of the truck and it will unplug when I back out if I forget.

One thing with these, if you get one, stand clear when it is plugged in.......

The one we had on the back of one of the buses, when the tones would drop, and you grabbed your gear and jumped in, when the Chauffeur would turn on the ignition, the plug would eject the drop cord out of the back of the box, and you could hear the plug hit the wall in the back of the bay. The wall was at least 10 feet away from where the ambulance was parked.

painted the front bumper, wiring up my back rack flood.spot LED cubes tonight. Moved the underflatbed ones from the corner to sindie frame rails, looks cleaner and keeps the from getting pelted with tire spray.

hmm, well it sems it was a stroke of luck that one day i was able to get a steady 18.5ish MPG on my usual toronto highway trip. That was early this summer. Every subsequent trip has been crap. this weekends trip netted me 14 mpg. I cruise at 70, boost is around 6-7 psi, EGT 650ish. ive had about 3 or 4 trips in this MPG range now. witht he HX and now with the S366 turbo. This last trip was done with a spare IP i had, so I dont knwo my timing for sure. I do knwo it runs better with the cold advance ON,as in fully warmed up cruising flat land, i turn the cold advance on and i start picking up speed slowly (1-2mph) and can hear the turbo whine up more.
my previous pump was timed i think 9 deg BTDC. I have not timed this new pump, but both were netting the same bad results. I know im in the neighborhood of 9ish degrees witht he advance ON with my current pump, listening to the motor cruising 65ish has a ncie clatter, like it did with the old pump. I turn the advance off and can barely hear diesel clatter, sounds like a 460 at that point.
Does winter blend diesel fuel suck like winter gasoline blends??

offhand, any one know how much the cold advance actually adds? I assume it is a global advance, similar to rotating the pump yes?

YES Winter diesel is worse than Winter Gas. They use #1 diesel in winter which has less calories that standard #2 diesel. Less calories equals less energy and that is less mileage. You can add additives that will help get some of the MPG's back.

#1 vs number 2 Im seeing is 139.5k vs 137.4k BTU, that is 1.6% less energy content.
doesnt seem like much, but I am chalking it up to that lol. Damn hate seeing that needle drop so fast..14 mpg is crap

I know the % difference doesn't seem like much, but I can really tell in my truck the MPG difference between summer and winter fuel.... the engine is also a bit quieter on winter diesel.... there again, less energy so a bit smaller explosion to make noise......

I've even noticed in the spring, when they switch back to summer blend, I can hear the difference in the sound of the engine sitting at the pump as the fresh fuel hits the engine..... I can even here the difference in tanks in the summer and winter as it fills.....
