Took me one month of weekends working mostly by myself, but the conversion is done and the truck is back on the road. Tons of sweat equity in this conversion because I swapped all factory brackets / parts from a 4x4 chassis cab. I did not use an aftermarket kit. Removing rivets and brackets from the 4x4 frame is no fun, drilling new holes and mounting brackets on the 4x2 frame is no fun. I even removed the boxed section of frame from the passenger side of the 4x4 truck and welded it in as part of the swap. Very satisfying and glad it's done. I still have a few small things to wrap such as a transfer case shifter boot (I have the weird 1987 shifter in the tunnel cover rather than poking through the angled part of the floor), still need to swap to the 4x4 pitman arm, need to cover the cab floor, and I need a full set of matched tires ($$$$).

IMNSHO: Single cab duallys do not get enough love. They haul, tow and maneuver really well, and as a current crew cab and past extended cab owner, the percentage of time that the back seat has nobody in it is far greater than 51% of the time.

Great looking rig and nothing but respect for removing all those factory rivets. That's tough work but you know it's done right ;Sweet

Good job!

I've done a bunch of that before and know the effort involved. I have a crewcab ahead of me for the same trick.
