Last Saturday was Test & Tune(aka Play Day) at RPM Speedway. About 1 1/2 hours in, the ole PackRat started pitching a fit. Four times I stopped and dump out the fuel filter. The only time it ran right was idle, or wide open.

I can't imagine why a 10-year old fuel filter, fed by a 40 year old fuel pump, from a 60 year old tank, would give any trouble. :D

Last summer I swapped out the old skinny Rochester, for a 'barely used' pot-belly. Ever since, it seemed to run warmer.

Today, I picked up a carb kit, and a couple spare fuel filters.

Long story, shortened...I kitted the original carb, and changed the filter, after work. Only took a few minutes tuning, to make it run like it used to.

Better yet, the flamethrowers work llike they used to.

Hopefully, our forecasted rain is over by noon, so there is a chance the track will be workable for the first scheduled race.

Boogity Boogity Boys! Let's Go Racin'!
