I've heard all this talk lately about BB code injectors, even that the BB codes are better than the turbo G-code injectors.
What makes them better?

So what makes the BB codes better than the other non-turbo injectors (I swear I saw a couple other letter designations)

There are other codes AA, BB, EE, G and so on. The differences are supposed to be minor (open pressure differences). But not real performance difference. The BB's are pretty generic and or easier to find. If I'm not mistaken, it is difficult if not impossible to find the other codes or parts specific to other code for rebuilding other than for the BB's.

my truck smoked much less with g injectors, kinda odd that nothing else changed. IF I could find g injectors near me I would run only them.

they put g codes in when they started having more emissions maybe the less smoke is from not flowing as much fuel or maybe they have a better automization who knows all i know is i have a brand new set of bb codes and im very happy with them with them and my 7.3 injection pump i can spin tires just stomping it from a dead stop not poping the clutch or anything, and i dont have a turbo

Seems to me that Ford went out of there way to detune the turbo IDI that the G codes are most commonly identified with. That was enough for me to question there viability. In a previous thread that I asked basically the same question Mel, Russ and others confirmed my suspicions. I went with the BB's and am very happy with there performance but after watching Moose TV I can't wait to save some money and wear these out in order to have a good excuse to buy those Moose Misters!!

Can the injector be idendified while in the head? I'd like to know what's in my dads truck, but he won't want to pull one just to see what it is.

They are stamped just below the hex.

The G code injectors pop around 2100 lbs... The BB and others pop around 1850 lbs... I'm running a set of BB from Typ4 and they are so much better than the G set I had and the G set was the second new set of them I ran. The were set to pop around 1950 lbs... They just were not very good.
