That is what is on my truck right now.
what I want is the size so I can get new tires for road use. as in 215/85/R16 but around the same size as what is on there now.
I dont do the mud and rock thing .

If I remember right Q78's are somewhere around 36x11.00. Unfortunately tires that tall in skinny sizes are basically impossible to find unless you go with an Interco Super Swamper. The tallest 'skinny' tire that is readily available is the 255/85-16 which depending on brand is 33-34x10.50..... Quite a bit smaller than what you currently have.

my plan is to replace them with a road tire but try to keep the ride height that i have now.
my q78-16 are on my rear duals of the truck in my avatar my fronts are mickey thompson 315/75R16.
I do know there is a 1" overall diameter size difrence between my front and rear tires so I am woried about using 4WD very often.

you may try in 11.00 R 16, there probably a little bit wider but you may have enough room with your wheels

The question is, how many younger members actually knew the OP was referring to a tire size?

I did, I did, I did. Only because I have looked at them for a 1/2 ton:sly. I have confused a few parts counter jockeys by asking for a matched set of V-belts, not sure why:confused:.

The only reason I got it was
1. It was in my price range and close to me with a good body
2. the unmatched tires are getting changed to a matched set because they are getting bald
3. I dont use 4WD unless I need to and I have not needed 4WD in 10 years.

I am just looking for tires that are close in size for the replacements.
