Does anyone know if the thing above the back window is a third break light or a cargo light? Mine is broken and just wires sticking out if the cab.

I got my coolant overflow working and I can start from inside the cab, I am currently getting 16.6MPGs and I lost a rear axle seal the other day.

On the bricknoses it's a cargo light.

I got the rear axle seal replaced and the filter head and coolant filter for my coolant filtration system are in. Oddly the Napa part was wrapped in news paper.

I went to check the gear oil level in my transmission yesterday night (it leaks) and all the bolts holding the transfer case in were falling out and only finger tight so I had to fix that before driving home from where I was.

The pain funnel continues, power steering seal blew out of the bottom of the steering box throwing all the PS fluid out at once. Order for a new redhead box submitted and will be placed on Monday. I had to take the belt of the PS pump and “Armstrong steer” home. That IDI makes for an unpleasant Armstrong experience.

Always funny, you don't know how much you appreciate power steering until you don't have it. Speaking from someone who just recently up fitted power steering to my samurai... Doing 3 point turnarounds are much nicer.

How much is that redhead box setting you back? When I built my crew cab I mistakenly used a standard cab box, and my turning radius is horrible, compared to my dad's crew cab.

I think your radius has more to do with the front axle setup than the box. Because Ford used the same box on all the pickups, the ranger... maybe even the early explorer..... so I don't think it's the box. Maybe the pitman arm, or a difference in the front axle setup. If I remember correctly, the D-60 and the 2wd turn tighter than the D-44/50 does.....

Looks like they retail around $300 mines ordered and should come in this week the main advantage to redhead is it’s a true rebuild not a parts store pressure wash and resale.

I bought this cheap air horn on Amazon so I will let you know how it sounds, priority is below the steering box but I can’t hear the factory horn over the diesel rattle so I wanted an upgrade.

Well I got my new steering box in, I think I am one rag joint away from Javi mg the tightest steering brick nose in existence. The box was about $300 I think. One of my tires got impelled and my ignition switch is still having issues so I can’t drive it much yet, so far I’ve put 1500 miles on it in 8 months.
