Ok, got-er-done!!!
Donated a bunch of blood to her today. No idea where those cuts came from.
I should have done this long ago.
I'm afraid I have been running around not feeding my IP enough.
I was concerned about a knock, (a bunch of knocks, as in several cylinders.), that was getting worse.
Got this all done. Started it up. Bad knock bad knock bad knock... Then the knock goes away almost completely.
Plus, I have a road draft tube. When sitting at idle, that sucker makes it look like the truck is on fire. No smoke from that, today!!
Yeah. Like I said, should have done this long ago.
Oh well, it's done now.
I plumbed in both the manual pump and the electric, along with the check valves, so that 1. I could prime the system any time, with the electric pump. and 2. I would be sure the IP is getting fed enough fuel.
Looks like it is working for both purposes.
Still had to give it 8 seconds on the glow plugs, after priming with the electric pump... But it started better than it has, in a while.
If Scotty4 gets that canopy for me this weekend, I will have a good chance to drive this on a longer trip on the highway, and see if there is any difference. Hoping again, for a difference even in fuel mileage. Still sitting at 11 to 13mpg.
