Problems with vacuum pump pulleys

Got a vacuum pump from the local salvage yard, from a 88 F250, which had a V-belt pulley.
When I tried to put my serpentine pulley on it did not go.
Went to local machine shop, they measured the pump shaft from the 88 F250, it was 17mm, the ID of the serpentine pulley was 16.60 mm.
Has anyone else run into this problem, and how does a person fix this?
Would honing the pulley work?

When I checked Oreilly's site, the same part number (for a replacement pump, without pulley) is used for both the 88 & my 93.

Yes.. I recall this happening some time last year. I think it turned out to be the differance between the chevy vacuum pump and the ford cacuum pump. I do know there was a differance found..

A board member (no name) had the same problem on the road, he said the pulley shaft ID difference was V-belt versus serpentine.
