Is there any reason that you couldn't use a spin-on fuel filter setup designed for fuel dispensers and the like ON a truck?
Found this company called Cim-Tek, they have aluminum filter heads that look easy enough to mount, and spin-on filters down to 2 microns in the $5-9 each range. Says they can handle up to 15 psi and 18 gpm (which is a lot of flow!)
Been thinking about a dual filter setup so I could run some WMO, this looks like a cheap primary or secondary filter setup, just wondering.

I have to agree though, if the station pumps are any indication, I'd steer clear of them. While I don't run WMO, I do run a Perma Cool filter that seems to be pretty good and the elements are only $15 for it. I run it pre-pump, then run the 7.3 filter after it in the stock 6.9/7.3 location. Both are water separator type filters.
, lots of room at the housing-bottom for **** to settle in
