Time to install a pyrometer. Im pretty sure that what ive been reading is that you drill and tap your stock exhaust manifold if you dont have a turbo, correct.

Also does anybody have any pictures of their setup.

You can also get a clamp on style where you drill into the exhaust pipe just below the coupling to the exhaust manifold then insert the pyro and put the clamp around it. I would tend to go that way because it's easier to access and drill in that area verse the exhaust manifold - there is a lot less involved with drilling through the pipe vs drilling and tapping the manifold.

on the van it wents super easy...dont have any pix..but the material the manifolds are made out of is fairly soft (compared to high-carbon steel)...I drilled it and ran the tap in and out..done in about 5min..

course I was sittin on the driverside floor when I did it..kinda easiler than upside down in the engine bay..;p

I did one Sunday on the 91'. I took me longer to pull the drill out than it did to drill and tap the hole in the manifold. I will have the truck by at home tomorrow evening and will take some pics for you. Also it is a N/A.

If you're running a turbo you cant just drill the manifold and go. You have to make sure you flush out all of the shavings first. Easiest way of doing that would be to pull the crossover pipe and fire it up for a second or two to blow the shavings out. Wont matter running it with the turbo with no exhaust running to it for only a few seconds. Trust me it will thank you later for not running all that crap through it.

As you will see if you find manky's post that I dont put them in the manifolds on these trucks. I do it just below the mounting flange on the drivers side of the crossover pipe. Makes it allot easier to drill and then weld in the bung. But thats just how I do it.
