I know this is a diesel board but since my tow rig is an idi and you guys also have other interests i figured i would post this here. If anyone wants to help support my hobby/habbit my tow rig could use a few upgrades lol.

Got to throw out some props to all my supporters...

It has been a fury of building the past 2 months (with 2 months of paint work before that)

Special thanks first is to Dave, KJ, Roger, Austin and of course my anonymous friend...."The Shadow"

Without you guys I would never had made my deadlines... I still have a few things to iron out but all in all the rig will be ready to rock come next weekend.

Got to throw out props to all the venders who stepped up and lent a hand by providing me with some great parts. Without them I would have been fabbing much more and would be a lot more in debt hahaha. All these guys are top notch. Some you may know some you may not, but rest assured you will get good service from every one of these guys.

Obviously my main sponsor. Scott was first to jump on board and willing to help me out. Scott's parts and service are top notch!

Sean Conk

Before i was competing I personally purchased parts through Sean. Always came in good time and always got the right stuff!

Seriously nice stuff and a supporter of Gonzookin. Thanks for setting us up with team shirts and hats!!

Liner Extreme
This stuff can be found on ebay. they gave me a discount and i got to say...after putting it in the zuk i wouldnt hesitate to put it in my truck!! very nice product

Vic Soto is a great guy and supplied me with all my team vinyl. If you want a custom sticker made give him a call.

You must be registered for see images attach

If it wasn't for these guys my rig wouldn't be half of what it is today... I managed to get out today for a test run and i got to say it did very well. It felt very stable and very controllable. I got a few things to change and a couple of things to doctor up but all in all i was pleased. We plan on giving it all next weekend (May 2nd) for the first comp of the season...

After the first comp I will try and post the build and all my comp photos and videos

It's a Jeep Thing

:dunno Mel; People that don't own a Jeep just don't understand, just like people that don't an own an IDI diesel truck just don't understand. It all makes sense to me but then I own one of each and like to drink beer too! Dan

I want one with a turbo diesel!!!

:rotflmao:rotflmao:rotflmao

i was going to put a 1.6L VW diesel in the zuk but decided i didnt want to put the money into the adapters when i already got the 1.6 gasser adapters...

not to mention a VW TD is only ok on the highway and this rig has been built with dual purpose in mind.

I have pretty much completed phase one with the axle and suspension rebuild...

phase 2 will involve a sidekick reduction box...twin sticks in the tcase and a 3spd auto.

the 3spd will make a nicer DD and will be much better for the comps. i like a 5spd for trail riding but when your on a time limit the auto is nicer.

They built one of those things with the VW diesel on Xtreme 4X4 on the Powerblock. They ran it on veggie oil to proove a point. Not sure why it would not be good on the hwy, but I am not mad at you for building something that is not a Jeep.

On that note, Jeep....Just Empty Every Pocket. Yes, I do understand that jeep thing... They suck.

ive seen that particular zuk in person. if you my opinnion on that send me a pm...

i need to revide my statement. the TD's arent bad for the highway. you sometimes have difficulty keeping them cool and the fuel mileage is decent but not as incredible as you may think due to the higher rpms needed.

offroad if your just crawlin they work well. in a competition vehicle you sometimes need the rpm and wheel speed that you cant get with a small 4cyl diesel.

for a DD it would work great...stock gears and 31's is aboput perfect for a VW 1.6 and 1.6TD. the NA1.6 you can get around 35-40mpg if kept under 60mph....

the TD your right around 30
