Oil feed location for turbo

Try as I may, I can't get the plug out of the engine where banks says to supply oil to the turbo. Can I use the stock oil pressure sender location? Is there enough flow there?

Yes but its really tuff to reach that location. What are you useing to remove the plug. Sometimes a 6 inch good quality pipe wrench works well. Never use channelocs. They will round off the plug...

Huh, unless I'm reading the instructions wrong, my fitting is a Allen wrench style plug. I just double checked, and I pretty sure I've go the correct location...next to the oil filter.

Ok... This fitting we are attempting to talk about it located on the bell housing ear almost at the bottom. It could very well be an allen hex plug like whats found on the ends of the heads.

I didn't try the one on the ear, just the one just rear or the oil filter. From the banks instal guide, it looked like I was pulling the correct one, but from what you're saying I'm barking up yhr wrong tree? Thanks.

Yep wrong one. That one is unfiltered oil that you are trying to remove.

if it doesnt move right away, heat it or smack it, and its a little plug. as said you are on the wrong one

You want the one pictured below. You don't want to try and use the factory sender's port. It is buried under the turbo plumping and just won't work.

Wow... Glad for the great pics from Heath... He clearly shows the coolant and oil port locations... On any non turbo block all the oil passage ports are going to be 1/8 inch pipe plug ports in the national pipe threads. All the coolant passage ports will be the 3/8 inch national pipe thread ports. This should help out those that are reading this... Only the turbo blocks have the oil passage ports in the 1/4 inch pipe thread size but they are al located in the same locations.

What do you guys use to seal the threads? I tried liquid thread sealant but it is still dribbling.

Loctite's pipe and joint compound. It a black, thick liquid. Makes a real mess on your hands if you're not careful.

I generally use permatex avation cement. Its comes as a liquid brown in color and has a paint bruch in the cap for applications. A little goes a long ways too.
