oil cooler leak

just curious as to if i can get a kit to rebuild the oil cooler? the only one i can find is in an entire kit! Any ideas? :rolleyes:

Oh! Okay...the oil cooler to block gaskets can be gotten at Kragen or anyone who sells Fel-Pro gaskets. It'll come with three gaskets, and one of them will be discarded (it's intended for vans, which have a different oil cooler setup). It won't come with the O-rings, though.

IIRC the gasket kit is inexpensive...and Fel-Pro's a good name for gaskets. :)

Ford and IH no longer stock gaskets for the 6 ring (early) cooler. Only for the 4 ring cooler. Which basically means, anybody with a pre 85/86 6.9 needs to start looking for an oil cooler for a 7.3. :rolleyes:

It's been confirmed that IH doesn't stock the O-rings either? :(

Last I heard, Ford didn't, but IH might have...

BTW, I think that late '84 engines have the 4-ring oil cooler as well...the cutoff block serial number was 61494. So, it's really just us with '83 and early '84 engines who are hosed... :mad:
