33 degree morning, went outside to cold start truck because after last winter without glow plugs this sort of thing is still fun for me.

Truck fired up perfectly and I popped the hood just to check my blowby and coolant to make sure there's no bubbles because I'm ocd and what did I see? No blow by or bubbles but my top radiator hose is about to fall off and was leaking.

I'm gonna try and just loosen it shove it further on and over tighten it to the point of regret and probably end up replacing it later, but damn am I glad I noticed this and didn't just drive it to work this morning..

Glad you had a successful start up this morning. Nothing sounds or feels better than our idi coming to life on a cold morning. I try to do a safety walk down every time I get into my car or truck. Lifting to hood is like an opportunity to "find something". Tightening up hose clamps every so often is a good idea too. A simple 5/16 nut driver or a 1/4 inch wratchet and 5/16 socket works very well on most any hose clamp.

Yep, simply enough tightening everything up worked perfectly. I have a rare 4 day weekend coming up this weekend so it might be time for a pre winter once over on all the vehicles.

My factory oil pressure sending unit has officially died and keeps randomly saying there's no oil pressure even when flying down the highway with 37-40 psi on the mechanical gauge that's teed into where the factory one is as well. I wouldn't care but seeing my engine light come on when it does it is starting to **** me off so I guess I need to start myself a "small things" to do list..

A 6 way screwdriver has the sockets to tighten up about any hose clamp except some Chinese crap clamps and maybe FI clamps are off sized.

Keep one in each vehicle.
