have you got tired of your old, worn out, missing nylon insert that makes your door rattle?
sure, you can go down to your local auto store, or fire up e-bay, and order some.
but when you get them, and install them, be ready to be pissed off, mad, and have a hell of a time getting them to
work correctly.
the issue, that i have had is that the nylon is too large in diameter.
and the best thing to do, is to make the diameter smaller!!!
how do you do that???
well, if you have a lathe, and you know how to use one, youre golden!!!
some have tried to put them in a drill and use a grinder or other methods without success!
which brings me to the meaning of this post.
as a machinist by trade, i have the equipment to do this for you!
DBCarrillo, Ahad some parts i needed, and he needed some strikers!
he sent me 9 strikers, that measured 0.697" in diameter
i set up my machine, and turned them down for him.
they should work great and shipping out today.
final diameter = .666"
if youre in need, im always down for horse trading!!!
heres a little video of the machining process.
im using a GP Italy Centerless grinders, with a diamond grinding and a resin bond regulating wheel.
ive found that with the coolant running, they barely machine, this is why im doing it dry.
this machine is for turning diameters down on rods, and tubes, of the Ceramic nature.
nylon does gum the wheel up, but an abrasive stone cleans it right up.
so here you go, if ya need some of these done, let me know!!!
