Not sure what else to call it, and would really appreciate some help. I have a 93 f350 7.3 dually, had it for about 2 weeks now, and trying to figure some things out. I start just fine cold, and warm as well. There's an in between though where my WTS light wont come on, and I can crank but not turn over. I haven't cranked for days to see if it finally goes, as I don't want to wear anything else out, but I'm trying to figure out what it is. Just shy of 104k on the ticker. Thanks

Do you know if the injection pump has been changed out before? Sound kinda like a heat soak (no hot start) condition but they usually do it when right warmed up to when that happens. A luke warm engine should start without glow plugs even if there is something wrong with your glow controller.

I have no idea about most of this trucks history. I picked it up from some kid for dirt cheap because his gf didnt like it in the driveway :rotflmao
To the best of my knowledge, it only happens when my temp gauge needle sits right about the C, or just past it. Anywhere else seems fine. Unable to find much info but a buddy said it could be the temp gauge in the relay not telling the plugs to turn on?

WElcome to the forum. The idea the temp gauge sender is bad might be the issue but really not sure at this point. The way that sender works is if the engine is less than 120 degrees this sender is closed and sends power to the fast idle solenoid, the injection pump internal electric advance and the glow plug controller. This sender is found behind the coolant return to the radiator thermostat housing and is a hard job ro remove and install.

Thank you for responding. I guess the injection pump was retimed? That's what the guy I got it from told me last night. He didn't have the truck very long, and I'm hoping if it was looked at the IP is still good haha

Hit the stickies and start checking each issue 1 at a time.
Any heat in the eng should make it fire,,,, next time it happens see if the fuel solenoid has 12 volts to it!
