hi whitmore- can you help?

easy mod to help feed your VE pump

Shimming the fitting with a 3/16 spacer behind the spring in the fuel regulator. This is located on the right hand side of the fuel filter. You will see a 3/4 brass nut there. The spring is inside there. Shimming will raise the fuel pressure and often give you a worthwhile increase in power and no one that I can recall has reported higher fuel consumption.

Adding fuel pressure gauge:

Something else to do is to buy a fuel pressure gauge out of JEG's and just have it permanently attached all the time. You can unscrew the schrader valve and just screw in a fuel pressure gauge. You can buy them for up to 100-160 psi.
yup, sure as they go , my serviced pump came back, damaged.-cuss.
the top casing of the ve pump- where the accelrater shaft goes through has broken.-cuss
after taking the casing , off, i noticed the governer spring.
question-
after dissasembling, what are the marks to line up the spring/cam/shaft assembly?
as there are several ways to line it up.
is it, w.o.t, cam to just touch the casing??(viewed from the inside)
is it the markings on the casing, or when the gov' spring starts to pull??
yeah, i have the other pump, completly dissasembled, so i have no way of knowing how to set the gov, spring/cam/shaft setup...
