I think its pretty cool actually. Why mess with doing it under the hood when you can just mount it to a stack

Gary, I don't think there IS an oil line to return from.

Looks to me like somebody saw a turbo laying around, stuck it on their stack as a joke and said... "hey wait a minute!"

No air filter either, so obviously this setup is not intended to last.

Well crap, back to the drawing board. I knew something wasn't right with my setup.

That does appear to be one of those hold my beer and watch this moments.
But on the otherhand that thing is putting power down. Not sure how long that turbo will last without lube tho.

I've always wondering about having a seperate oiling system for a remote mount turbo. Instead of plumbing it back into the motor...why not just have a seperate system just for the turbo.

Have a little oil sump (a quart?) a small oil cooler, and a little pump to circulate the oil.

There are some benefits to a remote turbo mount setup. Look at STS turbos, all of their setups are remote mounts. they do have a lot less to mess with under the hood, lower underhood temps, longer charge line means cooler air charge. Go ahead and read up on the STS website.

I pondered remote twin turbos for the scout, mounted under the bed. Then last time I went wheeling I found myself in a mud/water hole that swallowed all 4 37" iroks, and watched the water begin to seep in the bottom of the doors (the rockers are waist high on me and I'm 5'7"). Then I got to thinking....hmmmm mounting turbos under my truck is a baaaaddddd idea.
