My headlight dimmer switch has 2 1/4 positions

My floor mounted dimmer switch has the 2 normal positions - LOW and HIGH.

But about half the time when dimming only, I get another position - NEITHER.

I immediately need to switch back to HIGH, then because of oncoming traffic quick to LOW. And hope I have light.

So along with the headlight mod I will be replacing my dimmer switch.

hey...thats better than it doing like one of mine did....one night about 200 miles from home it decided to have 1 position...off.

But at least that switch is cheap and easy to swap

When i did my headlight mod, I replaced my dimmer switch too. Mine was doing the same thing that your talking about, and I determined that it was a bad ground on the dimmer. The floor was rusty so I painted it with rustoliem. I guess the dimmer ground is the bolts that hold it to the floor, so when I painted it I didn't have a good enough ground anymore. Works fine now though.
