I had access to this diagram, but I was hesitant to post it since it's for a 1986. So it's different, but in principle operation it's the same. You can see how the "guts" of the switch are wired, and how if you feed voltage backwards on the brown wire, how it can run around through the dimmer and back out on the lightblue/red
You can also see how the switch is made up of several switches all mechanically tied together inside, but electrically separate. Glad you got it figured out.
