In the interest of providing the most reasonable expectations and good client communication, I'd like to let everyone know what is going on with the Moose product line.
As you know, we lost the dedicated effort of my pump wizard to the poor economy. With insufficient pump work to remain gainfully employed, he left the rebuilder for two other jobs. Working 60 hour weeks 6 days a week, he has at this point, very little free time. He does however, still want to support the Moose program and is still comitted to trying to find a way to do the work. The pump rebuilder is still on good terms with him, and they will be working together to deliver pump and injector products to us. However, what this means at this point is this. Turn around will be VERY slow. Probably on the order of 1 to 3 months. To combat this, I am going to try and change the service model. Up to now, I have always been rebuilidng pumps sent in, and sending the same pumps out. This will no longer be desireable, and I am going to try to get to a point where I can offer exchanges with immediate turn around on available stock. Basically, I will front the money and have a shelf full of pumps that are ready to go. To support this, it will be necessary to develop a fixed price model. To date, I have processed about 50 pumps. I am going to add the cost of all of these, and average them to determine a final price. This means I may loose money on some, and make money on others. To combat that, I am going to try to get my rebuilder to adopt a fixed price model also, to keep the price as low as possible without me taking on additonal risk, but at this point that has not happened yet. I will stock Moose and Baby Moose pumps at a ratio of 3 to 1, which is about the rate they have been going. If anyone still wants a Super Moose, that will still be possible, but I would anticipate a 6 month delivery time. Right now I have about 6 clients that are stuck in rebuild delay. My appologies to those people, and I am doing whatever I can to try and get those pumps rebuilt and back to you, but you guys will be the last batch to get your own pump back. All new inquiries for pumps at this time will be put on a waiting list, with notification to come when advance exchanges are available.
BB Injectors, and Moose Misters will be unaffected by these changes. We are still waiting for BB Injector availability to return, but this should happen soon. Return line kits and fuel feed lines are also readily available.
Sorry this isn't the level of service I used to be able to offer. In some ways it will be better, but in other ways it will not be as good. However, I will not allow quality or the performance of the product to decline in any way.
