the problem with having a e pump and a lift pump is that if they are not ran on seperate lines one will have to force fuel through the other and since the stock pump is a positive displacement pump then if you try to force fuel through it then you will likely blow the seals and end up with a crankcase full of diesel. why would you want the lift pump to circulate diesel? It seems it would be easier to have one pump with two different tanks.

Redneckaggie is right. You don't want to force fuel through the lift pump. I am toying with the idea of running an e pump and the lift pump, with the e pump put on a seperate section of line that Y's off before the lift pump, then Y's back in after the lift pump. It's just an idea that I am thinking of doing later on this year.

Does anyone know of a way to test if the lift pump on my truck is shot or not. If it's shot, I really don't want to have to change the oil right now either. If there is no way to test it I think I will just put a new one on.

really no way to test besides to hook to a source of fuel and see if it is pumping. I can say that changing the oil is a whole lot easier than installing one. If you are interested in another e pump check out a pro comp pump. I picked mine up off of ebay. way cheaper than a holley and it has been on the truck for at least 3 years

not a lot to speak of really I dump every oil change into the tanks and I use 2 stroke as a fuel conditioner. I have use that same pump(before I put it on the truck) to transfer wvo for a buddy of mine that makes biodiesel. It wasnt cold outside though
