Smelled fuel, and lost cold start prime...open the hood, return line between #6 & #8 injector was SHOT!
I touched it and it broke away...oddly, the center rubber was pliable but the ends at the cap-nipples were hard as a rock and cracked badly. This return line kit isn't all that old!

Was it a "made in china" kit? Thats too bad that it didn't last long for you. I guess thats one of those things that could be considered preventable maintenance; but, im sure it was expected to last much longer.

That stinks man. I have to do my cap ends soon, (or at least the one thats leaking) and was wondering what a good return line kit or "diesel injector installation kit" as they call it would be. I was thinking about the delphi kit..

We usually only recommend Russ(typ4) or Mel(agnem) for these return line kits. They sell the best kits available too with the viton o-rings. nothing is better than viton for our system. Buy from an ebay seller and you will buy another kit from our mentioned sousces. Cost sometimes causes us to buy cheap.. But in the end it really hurts... Doing the job twice is a flavor I do all I can to avoid. Do it once. Do it right.. Be happy for a long time.

Don't think that return kit's five year old with maybe 15-20,000 miles on it.
I still have the packaging the kit cam in with a leftover section of hose...I'll post the manufactures name tomorrow, as it's in the truck.

My stepfather said, "You can buy the good one, or the cheap one and the good one."

A lot of time buying the cheap one is just false economy. I can't say I've ever regretted buying "the good one".
