Yea, good point. I wouldnt have expected to find something in the pick up screen judging by the way it runs with almost no issue. My stomach sure sunk when i heard metal bits moving around in the pick up screen.

IF this car has had a vacuum pump failure before, I question the mileage of the engine... Most likely upwards of 200,000 miles.

Been super busy lately but i am really close to getting the car up and operational again. I just need the right oil filter( in the mail now) and a valve adjustment.

Shes all good now. All i need to do is work on the body!

I did a "diesel purge" with some actual diesel purge that i picked up from napa and it actually did something! It runs smoother with more power and now NO MORE SMOKE!
The stuff smelled like super concentrated diesel kleen. Good stuff, its nice to find something that actually produces results.

Edit: I still need to do that darn valve adjustment. I just need to find another free afternoon.
