Yep, just takes about a 100 grand or so for a calibration machine.
That's a large part of what the charge is for when you get an IP rebuilt.

not really a viable way to test the ip installed for flow...
The diesel comes out at really high psi - 2-3k. I guess you could pull an injector and leave it installed on a (really bent up) line if you wanted to watch it pop off (and make a huge mess)
Also don't inhale the mist and MAKE SURE you do not get close to the pop off. At that presure the diesel can penetrate your skin and give you blood poisoning
Usually the IP is fine as long as it doesn't leak, keeps time, doesn't have heat soak issues, etc... The injectors on the other hand can dribble when not supposed to, leak, etc. Usually the fuel line will feel hot on a leaker as combustion gasses force their way back up the fuel line. Both items I've heard many times are a 150k mile-a-change. You can make a pop tester for injectors
I suppose that could tell you something, but it wouldn't indicate most common IP issues like lack of advance, and heat soak etc.
I had my IP rebuilt a 3-4 years ago luckily since it did have an issue. Otherwise, I think everytime I saw a puff of smoke I would think maybe it needed a rebuild.

You are going to need a large faced gauge of high pressure. Probably 5000 lbs will be a sfae pressure. These pumps can pump out that much pressure and yes... It can inject under your skin so being awhare of that is something we need to keep in mind working around high pressures.Ford has a Rotunda pressure testing fitting in th special tol kits.. I really don't know what its supposed to connect to or what it tells you. Might be something to look into.
