IP and INjector Shelf Life?

I'm thinking about buying 1-2 IP's and sets of injectors to just "have on the shelf" as well as a couple return line kits. Glow plugs too, but I'm guessing the shelf life on this is a very very long time

How would be the best way to store them and any idea what the shelf life might be on these things?

Perhaps take out anything electronic (FSS, etc.) and hold the IP in a container of diesel with an airtight lid. I've heard that if they just sit on a shelf the o-rings in them will dry up and crack. I wouldnt go over a year without doing something with it just sitting on a shelf.

If the injecters are kept dry and oiled they will last longer then most of us. As for the injection pumps... I'm thinking 3 or so years. I recall some pumps bought from uhaul leaked. Seems Dieselogig was the shop that did the rebuilding and they hadn't done any in 7 years... So we know 7 years is too long for a seal to last without some activity. For me I would use something to keep the bag dry and about once or twice a year open up the pumps and spin them a few times by hand just to distribute the oil in them.

So if a guy kept a pump in a vacuum sealed container might that prolong the pump life?

Probably will but moving the shaft works the seals too. That was posting point. Exercise the pump internals so things don't take a set position.

i drop mine in a bucket of WMO, that stuff is so useful
