I got half of the truck washed clay bared, polished, and waxed. That's the main downfall to a CC. I'll finish it up during the week.

I know what you mean. I have not yet begun to clean my truck. Still working on installing gauges, heater bypass valve, tow hooks and trailer tow mirrors. Looks like another year without a turbo or a new motor. Guess I'll try for next year.

Well I added to the list and I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew yesterday.

Yup, got the call yesterday and the $100 Powerstroke IC from my budies 99 became available.

Stupid me started the install, in between sanding dually fender, waiting for the air compressor tank to recharge.cookoo

Darring called me last night 'bout 9:30 and I confessed my sins to him.

At this point I'm not sure if the IC will be on the truck come next Wednesday as I ran into a bit of a snag. The headlight bucket lower tabs that hold the grill on, want to occupy the same space as the elbows to the IC.

Other than that, the install was going fairly smooth.

At 10:30 last night I gave up after ravaging my stash of boots and adapters to step up to the 3" tubing from the intake hat and turbo.

Tonight I'll be doing final prep and priming the dually fenders to paint tomorrow so far as planned.

In between that, I'll be processing veggie and figuring out where to go with the IC project.

Hey Mel, shoulda had the resident baby doc teach ya a few tricks.LOL

I'm hoping to get it all in before we leave next WEDNESDAY, but we'll see.

Sorry Jared, I had that 100 bill stuffed away in my wallet for that thing for 2 months waiting for this day to come.
Needless to say, Karen was a bit suprised to see me pull it out to pay for it yesterday as she came with me to get it.

To a casual reader, it might seem that you fellas neglect your trucks except for Rally prep time! I, on the other hand, know better. Sorry I won't be there.

If it were not for the rallies, perhaps all of these trucks would fall into rapid disrepair in a few years time? Hmm.... Is there a trend? Folks who don't go to the rallies, do seem to be posting a lot. ;Really

Ouch!

Well, after a failed attempt at chasing 2 adapters to get the tubing to the turbo and the intake hat, the intercooler project has just been placed on the post rally project list. Time constraints at getting the parts will be putting it at the "throw it and go" mode. Not feelin comfortable about it right now.:dunno

To make matters worse, the etching primer is not a stocked item at Napa and since I'm using the crossfire paint brand, I gotta wait to get the primer now too.

He asked me when I needed it and I said right now.
I got a very blank stare in return and a comment of "I don't stack that primer gotta call em to see when I can get it in."

OHHH SNAP!

So now I'm anxiously awaiting the phone call as to when I will get it in my hot little hands as he wasn't sure how soon he could get it in.

Stock trading tip................. By some Rolaids stock THIS week.LOL

Hey thats too bad Ron. I sympathize. If it is any help, I'll be bringing the spoils from my own intercooler project, hoping to help out anyone looking for any odds and ends type of couplers and what not.

Wasn't meant to be. I've waited this long, so it can wait a little longer.
Well put me in for first dibs then.:hail

A couple of 2X4s and some poly sheeting and you can build a paint booth AT the rally--new workshop, Truck Painting 101.
