I have been meaning to ask this for some time now. Over the years, there have been a few threads posted about shakey idle problems.
Hammerdown had his pump issues and seems to have solved them with the moose, my issue is not yet solved.
The last time I had my truck in to get the timing set, the shop told me that there is no way that one of these rotary type db2's can cause an issue like that, I didnt buy the story. Then I called another big shop here and was told the same thing.
I know my truck ran fine when I bought it and never had a problem until I started throwing on these rebuilt pumps. The last shop that I took my truck to says I must have a lifter that is acting up after the truck warms up but I told them on cold days even at full operating temp that the truck idles much better, it seems to only get worse as the fuel and engine compartment gets hot, such as a warm or hot day.
So what I would really like to know is, are they full of crap when they say these pumps cant idle like that? What is it in these pumps that can cause the bad idle issue?
Just curious if these shops know what they are talking about, or if they are just blowing me off. Thanks
