finally got the 7.3 running. Changed the pump and it bleed out the lines in a few mins, and started right up. Still don't know what happened to the old pump that worked fine before I changed the engine.

Really no way to prefill an injection pump but nice thought. Not possible to pour anything down the return line on top of the pump. Thats the non return check valve that the fss solenoid opens or closes so the engine starts or shuts down.. An electric lift pump speeds up the bleeding process a lot.
