im going to be Buying a new injection pump i was wondering how hard it is to replace on my 94 7.3 IDI. Can i do it myself ??? do i have to time the motor is my question??

Yes, you have to time the motor. It isn't really that hard to do but IP and injectors should be done at the same time for the best gains.

If you do it yourself make sure you DO NOT remove the gear pump cover but there is a little inspection plate on the front that you remove (oil fill tube on 6.9)

Also, as mentioned above, do NOT remove the round cover that the IP bolts to. It looks like a simple shortcut. It is NOT a shortcut.

And do yourself a HUGE favor and use compressed air to blow around te injectors as you remove them or a simple job turns into a major PITA. I'm telling you this from first hand experience a month ago. And make sure you check the GP's, and DEFINATELY DO RETURN LINES while you have everything apart. I skipped the return lines and a week later it bit me in the ass

Uhaul's IP's are good but the injectors I got were sketchy. Just bite the bullet and get some new BB's off Mel and a Baby Moose rebuild.

We need a sig on your truck, turbo or NA, that will help with your suggestions.
