injection pump bad??

im looking to buy a truck that the guy thinks the ip is bad on. he said it will start but acts like its not getting enough fuel. i was thinking maybe it was the manual pump on the block but just seeing what you guys think. thanks!

I'd check the fuel pressure at the filter head. Every time my truck loses a lift pump, the power drops off the face of the earth. If it has good fuel pressure, IP sounds about right.

it could be a fuel filter

yea that it pretty wide open but start with the fuel pressure. could it be getting air in the system to? more info would help narrow it down.
