i have an idi 6.9 n/a truck and a impco 300 dual fuel set up just taking up space. do you guys think the 300 would work on a diesel (turned down) for fuel economy. i should only need a pyrometer right?

I don't know if you could turn it down low enough, you might have to build a metering valve to cut the flow down low enough to be used. I usually did not use a 300 series mixer on anything larger than a 351 but the 6.9 is not usually run in the rpm range of the 351. There is two 300 series mixers, one is a 300A series 1 & 20 and a 300A series 50 & 70, the difference being in the metering valve and the top plate of the assembly.

an impco 300 only flows 300 cfm and an impco 425 only flows 425 cfm so i still think your short, IIRC ther power valve will close off completly but if not you can get a vapor inline power valve that will close all the way. I think just a tube into the intake would be better then screwing around with the mixer

i thought that i would be in danger of over doing it. i wasn't planning on this being a power adder, i just want better fuel economy and more of a complete burn
