IDI and Ford Truck History

I did a search on the site for IDI history and came up empty.
I sent a request to both Ford and Navistar for any history, dates, production numbers, etc, relating to IDI's in Ford trucks and got either "records were not kept that far back" or "the info is not available". I suspect a combination of that and laziness to do the research, but oh well.

If anyone has any little bits of info, or links, relating to IDI's and Ford trucks, it would be much appreciated. You can PM me the info if you like. I'm looking for dates, production numbers, significant model/year changes, option availability, drivetrain differences, frame differences, trim codes changes, and any other obscure info that's relative along with any supporting documentaion or proof if possible. I know I can get some of it out of the FAQ sections and the like, but some of the not so well known stuff is also what I'm looking for. Everything from '83 to '94 and any other year applicable.
