well i just went and picked up my own birthday present, got me a hydrobooster for $28.00 bucks at the junk yard, now im just wondering is there any thing i should do first before installing the hydrobooster?

there are more out there, if you want next weekend i can pick one up and ship it to you if you want to cover the price and shipping, i didnt get any of the lines im just going to get new ones but i can get lines if you want, let me know, im going out there to get a transmission next weekend hopefully so ill be out there all day

i am not ready for h-boost right now but i will keep that in mind. thanks for the offer! i would do the same thing with new hoses and such.

did you get the ps reservior? You will need it. Lines are great too...make great spares!

I replaced my power steering pump when I did it with a new unit that came with the correct reservoir, if your power steering pump is old I would recommend doing the same, it did not cost a whole lot. I got my lines from rockauto, it was the best price I could find at the time, and they were a good brand.

Please tell us what year truck and what trans it has that this is going in. Are you going to use a 1 5/16 bore master cylinder or reuse the one on your truck now.. I recommend using the larger one. That way you have much more power going into the brake hydraulics. Your more than doubleing the pressure in the brake system. The vacuum brakes ran about 1000 lbs where the hydroboost runs around 2200 lbs. Might want to replace the three rubber brakes hoses too.They fail from the inside out. You usually never see them fail untill the brakes heat up because the fluid can't return to the master cylinder.. The insides collapses on thiem.

X2 replace the rubber lines. I learned the hard way on that one. Also replace any suspect looking steel lines too. that higher pressure finds weak spots easily

the bore on the hydrobooster is 1 5/8, thats what i plan on using, and i was going to replace all my brake lines, im surprised some havent busted yet, and thanks for the heads up on the rubber lines, i think ill just do steel braided brake lines, o and the truck is a 1997 f350 with a 7.3 idi and c6 transmission in it

So did the 97 come with a psd or a gas engine and someone changed it out for the C6 idi setup... Sounds interesting..

1 5/8 bore? You're sure? On the hydroboost master cylinder? Or might that be a typo?
The original MC on my truck, F350, was 1 1/8. I replaced it with one at 1 5/16. Those are the normal sizes.

Ken is correct about the master cylinder sizes. I think they came with 1 1/16. Then upped that to a 1 1/8 bore to fix the sinking brake peddle problem... Even that didn't help much... But using the 1 5/16 bore master cylinder will fix the sinking brake peddle problem.. It supplys enough volume to fill the out of adjustment rear sho wheel cylinders...

it was a gas motor, had 460 original, even has the gas core support haha, he made it work, and i measured by the hydrobooster bore, maybe the bore sizes are different on the master cylinders, here are some pics of the measurements

Well you can use that claiper but that demention is not the size of the cup in the bore of the master cylinder. Now we understand where you got the 1 5/8 measurement. Not a problem but we like to bring things back to correct without steping on toes...
